What Sets Us Apart
We know that choosing an orthodontist is a very personal decision. There are many orthodontic offices and treatment options available to you. Here are just a few details about our office that describe what sets us apart.
Board-Certified Orthodontist
Dr. Dana is a board-certified orthodontist. Becoming board certified signifies an orthodontist’s pursuit of continued proficiency and excellence in orthodontics. Board certification is a voluntary process that involves a series of rigorous oral, clinical, and written examinations to prove excellence in the field of orthodontics.
A very small percentage of orthodontists successfully complete the necessary requirements and standards to be awarded board certified status. Dr. Dana is one of them!
Positive, Encouraging Relationships
Building a foundation of trust by treating our patients as special individuals is a top priority in our office. We understand how uneasy some patients may feel about dental visits. We work hard to make a difference in providing a relaxing and positive experience. Our entire team is dedicated to providing you with excellent, personalized care to make your visits as comfortable and pleasant as possible. We strive to make the orthodontic experience one that you and/or your child will remember with positive memories.
One Orthodontist, One Office Location
We have one office location and one orthodontist. You can count on Dr. Dana’s personal attention throughout your entire orthodontic experience. As a solo practitioner, Dr. Dana does not delegate treatment decisions to an associate doctor or partner. This leads to great consistency during treatment and ensures that there is no confusion or potential treatment concern that could arise from differing opinions between multiple doctors or as a result of multiple locations.
Thorough Initial Consultations with Adequate Time for Questions with Dr. Dana
At the initial consultation, every patient will receive a comprehensive evaluation, which includes all necessary digital photographs, radiographs, and chairside measurements in order to allow for the most accurate diagnosis and treatment planning. Dr. Dana personally reviews all records and will sit down with you on the day of your consultation in order to thoroughly explain the findings of the evaluation and to answer any questions. We are often complimented by patients at the end of the initial consultation regarding the thoroughness of our evaluation and the quality time that Dr. Dana spent explaining their orthodontic assessment.
Community Commitment and Service
We are committed to supporting the community that we are so fortunate to serve. Please see our Giving Back page to see how you can partner with us. We are thankful to have the opportunity to give back in various ways.
Appropriate Early Treatment, Not Over Treatment
The American Association of Orthodontists recommends that all children be screened by an orthodontist for orthodontic problems at age seven. Dr. Dana agrees with this recommendation, being aware that some orthodontic problems are best treated in two phases: phase one treatment (age seven to ten) and then a second phase (full braces) around the age of 12. Wonderful things can be accomplished with two-phase treatment! However, recent research has demonstrated that some orthodontic problems, even though quite severe-looking, are best treated in a single stage of treatment at age 12, rather than in two phases.
Dr. Dana is well aware of which types of orthodontic problems should be treated in two phases, and which can and should be delayed until the permanent teeth have all erupted. We assure you that if you are bringing a younger child in for an examination appointment, Dr. Dana will give you honest feedback and will make recommendations for appropriate treatment timing. On average, less than 50% of the of younger patients she meets for that initial consultation need early treatment.
Cutting-Edge Technology
Our office is technologically advanced in the field of orthodontics. We utilize digital photographs and radiographs as well as CBCT 3D imaging and intraoral iTero scanning with in-office 3D printing. By using the highest-level technology, we enhance the patient experience while ensuring the most accurate diagnostic methods available.
We Utilize the Latest Systems Available
There are new and exciting treatment modalities in orthodontics. In the past, orthodontists would use heavy forces to move the teeth. Today in orthodontics, we utilize light forces and low friction to move teeth faster and more gently than ever before. The results are outstanding! You’ll benefit from our use of these latest technologies in the following ways:
- Treatment is much gentler, making your orthodontic experience much more comfortable.
- Treatment time can be shorter depending on your unique orthodontic needs.
- Appointments are typically six to ten weeks apart.
- Clear braces and Invisalign® are available for a more aesthetic orthodontic option.
Meticulous Sterilization Protocols
Our patients can be assured that we follow the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention guidelines for sterilization techniques. We use hospital-grade sterilizers and test the equipment regularly to adhere to the strictest of protocols.
Beautiful, State-of-the-Art Facility
When you arrive at our office, you will immediately notice that you have entered a state-of-the-art facility with the latest orthodontic technology housed in a warm, welcoming, and relaxing atmosphere. We strive to make our office a comfortable place to be through the use of encouraging music, complimentary coffee and tea, a “young children’s” play area, game stations, a movie theater room for older patients, and a beautiful view of the Rocky Mountains.
At Dana Orthodontics you can be assured you will receive the best orthodontic treatment and experience possible. We look forward to working with you to build a beautiful, healthy smile!
